Mr. Mittens With sectarian violence erupting all over the globe we need heroes now more than ever to take a stand for what they believe in. Orange Stripe would like to recognize the courage of Hollister’s “Jeans Movement” campaign for doing just that and promoting these ideals. By buying their jeans you are exercising your freedom of expression, which is not only a fundamental principle of our democracy but also our First Amendment. As they say in their “Jeans Movement” commercial, we’re a generation of jean wearers and that means we’re free to stand tall, free to explore, and free to have fun.
It’s not easy for a company to take a stand on an issue as divisive as jeans, especially since jeans have only been popular for about six decades, but Hollister has shown true grit in their support for the pro-jeans movement. As they say in the opening lyrics of the commercial, “I’m staring down the barrel of a loaded gun.” No one said being a revolutionary would be easy. We can only hope other companies see Hollister’s strength and are inspired to support freedom as fearlessly as well.
